What makes the stupid repetition of the same melody so genius and why does it have such an unforgettable impact? What is a bolero anyway, except a short jacket, and is Ravel's Bolero really a bolero? Stand-up conductor Maestro Jules explains the piece in his characteristic way. His story is supported by images and music excerpts, played live. After the intermission, the full performance of Ravel's spectacular masterpiece will be played by over 100 musicians.
